Description
This training introduces participants to the structure and operations of Canadian missions abroad. It focuses on the roles and responsibilities of a Foreign Service Executive Administrative Assistant for a Head of Mission or Program Manager.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- carry out the role and responsibilities of an executive administrative assistant in a mission abroad
- prepare correspondence and diplomatic bags
- follow up on program budget
- provide managers with advice using FAS and FARS
- prepare travel authorizations and claims according to the Joint National Council Travel Directive
- prepare hospitality claims according to the Department policy
- use social media strategically at mission
- apply best practices in information management
