Description
This course will help participants become familiar with core consular functions when working at a mission. Consular officers need to understand what is “mistreatment” or “torture” and their role in training their staff, reporting it and following up. Mitigating legal risk is explained.

- understand how to manage cases involving allegations of torture and/or mistreatment
- understand what tools and techniques are available to help consular officials manage these cases
