Description
Public opinion research is an important communication instrument for government as it plays a key role in assessing the effectiveness of policies, programs and services. This course is designed to provide employees and managers with the skills necessary to lead public opinion research (POR) projects, whether for internal or external audiences. It is beneficial for both employees and managers involved in planning surveys and focus groups that delve into aspects of "public opinion," such as views, opinions, satisfaction, feelings, ideas, perceptions, judgements, and reactions. This hands-on course covers the essential topics of POR.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- know the steps for conducting POR studies with internal resources
- know the steps for conducting POR studies using services of third-party suppliers
- select the proper methodology and sampling technique
- write survey questionnaires using government and industry-leading practices
- design inclusive and accessible surveys
- develop focus group or interview guides using government and industry-leading practices
- address privacy concerns
