Description

In this course, participants will learn how to communicate useful, evidence-based messages and ideas.

The course will focus on how to use dashboards, reports and and other visual tools to convey descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive insights to decision-makers.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • identify the key elements of a data story
  • explain the importance of stories in the communication of data and information
  • plan a data story based on the target audience
  • identify best practices when building visualizations for storytelling

Notes: This course is available to other government department employees on a cost-recovery basis.
