Description

This course provides participants with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to work effectively with Microsoft Copilot and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will learn how to use Copilot in a Global Affairs Canada (GAC) context, apply safe and appropriate AI practices, and develop effective prompts to improve the quality of AI generated outputs. The course is interactive, and participants will be expected to engage with the instructor and practice using Copilot in real time. For an optimal learning experience, attending the session from a workstation equipped with two monitors or an ultrawide monitor is strongly recommended.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the fundamentals of AI and its relevance to their work.
  • Identify and distinguish permitted and prohibited uses of AI within GAC.
  • Demonstrate how to navigate and use Copilot effectively to support daily tasks.
  • Apply key principles of prompt engineering to create clear, effective prompts tailored to their needs.
