This course is one of many actions within the Anti-racism strategy that will contribute to institutional culture change to make GAC an equitable and inclusive organization.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the concept of bias and recognise racial bias in your own thoughts and actions.
- Comfortably discuss the definitions of racism, racial prejudice, racial discrimination and other related terms.
- Explain the difference between individual and systemic racism.
- Describe certain impacts of systemic racism in present-day Canada.
- Relate important historical examples of systemic racism in Canada.
- Explain the concept of racial equity.
- Describe at least 5 concrete actions to contribute to an equitable and inclusive workplace at GAC.
