This course is one of many actions within the anti-racism strategy that will contribute to institutional culture change to make Global Affairs Canada an equitable and inclusive organization.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• understand the concept of bias and recognise racial bias in your own thoughts and actions
• comfortably discuss the definitions of racism, racial prejudice, racial discrimination and other related terms
• explain the difference between individual and systemic racism
• describe certain impacts of systemic racism in present-day Canada
• relate important historical examples of systemic racism in Canada
• explain the concept of racial equity
• describe at least 5 concrete actions to contribute to an equitable and inclusive workplace
