Description

This course is one of many actions within the Anti-racism strategy that will contribute to institutional culture change to make GAC an equitable and inclusive organization.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the concept of bias and recognise racial bias in your own thoughts and actions.
  • Comfortably discuss the definitions of racism, racial prejudice, racial discrimination and other related terms.
  • Explain the difference between individual and systemic racism.
  • Describe certain impacts of systemic racism in present-day Canada.
  • Relate important historical examples of systemic racism in Canada.
  • Explain the concept of racial equity.
  • Describe at least 5 concrete actions to contribute to an equitable and inclusive workplace at GAC.
