Description

This course is one of many actions within the Anti-racism strategy that will contribute to institutional culture change to make GAC an equitable and inclusive organization.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • understand the concept of bias and recognise racial bias in your own thoughts and actions
  • comfortably discuss the definitions of racism, racial prejudice, racial discrimination and other related terms
  • explain the difference between individual and systemic racism
  • describe certain impacts of systemic racism in present-day Canada
  • relate important historical examples of systemic racism in Canada
  • explain the concept of racial equity
  • describe at least 5 concrete actions to contribute to an equitable and inclusive workplace at GAC
