Description

This course has been archived as of February 19, 2026.

Asking questions, challenging assumptions, understanding impacts. How do diverse groups of women, men and non-binary people experience policies, programs and initiatives? Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) is an analytical tool and process to help us answer this question. The “plus” acknowledges that gender-based analysis goes beyond biological (sex) and socio-cultural (gender) differences. It looks at how sex and gender intersect with other identity factors including race, national and ethnic origin, Indigenous origin or identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic condition, place of residence and disability.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • understand key concepts related to GBA+
  • apply GBA+ to context-specific case studies
  • articulate the benefits of GBA+

Notes: This course is only available to other government department employees on a cost-recovery basis
