Understanding unconscious biases are powerful and often outside of our awareness and how to address them. Implicit biases may be associated with stereotyping and discrimination and they can be a barrier to creating an inclusive environment. This course addresses questions of unconscious or implicit bias to help ensure that your work environment is a respectful and inclusive one.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- understand the key concepts related to unconscious bias
- recognize the role of the brain in bias and perception of power
- apply a simple model for understanding and assessing the behaviour of people and groups
- consider behaviour as it relates to change, timelines, hierarchy, team dynamics and performance management
- explore good practices to address unconscious bias
