Description
This course aims to increase participants' knowledge of Public Financial Management (PFM) systems, practices, institutions and related topics in the context of international development, and improve their capacity to monitor and contribute meaningfully to dialogue on PFM issues with partner country governments and other donors.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- link national/sectoral priorities to the government’s medium-term financial planning and annual budget
- identify the main strengths and weaknesses of a PFM system and recommend strategies to strengthen it
- monitor the implementation of a PFM reform program
- review PFM assessments and financial information documents
- integrate gender considerations in PFM programming or capacity-building activities
