Description

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct different types of negotiations and to develop effective negotiation plans in bilateral and multilateral contexts. Participants will acquire the skills needed to initiate, conduct and conclude mutually satisfactory negotiations and practice recognizing strategies and tactics in negotiation.

Learning Objectives 

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • explain the various stages of the negotiation process
  • develop appropriate positions for Canada based on negotiation mandates
  • estimate the parameters of a zone of potential agreement in negotiations
  • develop strategic and tactical plans for negotiations
