This course explores China’s role in global governance over time and across a range of issue areas, including the global economy, the environment, diplomacy, human rights, and security, as well as how these issues intersect with Canada’s interests.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe how China’s engagement with global governance has changed over time and differs across a variety of policy domains
- explain how Canada and its partners are responding to China in a variety of fora
- describe strategies for advancing Canadian foreign policy interests in an environment in which China is an increasingly important player
