Description

This course examines the complexity of identities, cultures, governance, and regional institutions that influence policy and diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific region. It highlights the role of state and non-state actors in regional cooperation and strategic decision-making. The course provides practical tools to help deepen understanding and analysis of the region’s political and diplomatic issues.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • assess political and institutional dynamics in the region
  • analyze how identity, culture, and historical memory shape diplomatic engagement
  • evaluate the influence of regional institutions
  • identify how domestic and regional developments align with Canadian interests
