Description
This course will equip participants with a comprehensive, policy-oriented understanding of China’s evolving global strategy and worldview by examining its actions and objectives across diplomatic, intelligence, military, and economic domains. Participants will interpret China’s actions on the international stage and assess their implications for Canadian interests.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe China's evolving global strategy and its impact on Canadian national interests
- identify key elements of China’s political structure, party-state dynamics, and foreign and security policies
- evaluate the evolving dynamics of the Canada-China relationship, considering Canada’s strategic interests in domestic, bilateral, and multilateral spheres
- analyse practical options for engaging with China in support of Canada’s interests
