The Government of Canada protects and promotes Canadian values and interests beyond its borders. The Code of Conduct for Canadian Representatives Abroad (or the “Conduct Abroad Code”) provides guidance on the Government of Canada’s expectations of its representatives abroad. The following videos help illustrate the various topics covered in the Conduct Abroad Code, and for Canadian public servants on assignment abroad, are additionally mandatory to the Departmental Values and Ethics training.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • recognize their responsibilities related to the Code of Conduct for Canadian Representatives Abroad
  • know who to contact to obtain advice and guidance
  • use tools and resources to effectively support their future decision-making
