Description

This course will provide Trade Commissioners with a practical understanding of Competitive Intelligence (CI) and how it can be applied by both themselves and their clients to gain or improve access to markets for their products or services. CI is one of the value-added services Trade Commissioner clients need and expect.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • describe key competitive intelligence concepts and practices as they relate to international trade
  • develop competitive intelligence plans
  • interpret and assess commercial intelligence data for the benefit of Canadian businesses
  • identify available competitive intelligence resources and sources
  • gather intelligence at events (conferences, tradeshows, etc.)

Notes: This course is available to other government department employees on a cost-recovery basis.
