Description
The course aims to help trade commissioners serve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) more efficiently and effectively, both in Canada and around the world, by understanding the mindset of smaller companies and the scope of business decisions they face when exploring new opportunities. It will also help guide trade commissioners to ask the right questions to better understand the client’s business environment and barriers to export success.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- recognize information needs of SMEs expanding abroad
- examine and analyse information to support SME decision-making
- examine the challenges of SMEs in implementing International business development plans
- identify tools to guide and support Canadian SMEs in their international business development activities
