This online course explores the development of human rights and international human rights treaties, the work of international and regional human rights mechanisms, and the department's roles and responsibilities in advancing human rights internationally.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe the core values and principles that inform universal human rights concepts
- describe the architecture and operation of the United Nations human rights system
- recognize the contents of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights treaties
- explain the department's roles and responsibility regarding human rights
