Description

This course is set against the backdrop of the rise of China and its impact on the world order and the international economy. It aims to enable employees to get an understanding of the driving forces within China and of the country’s international political and commercial aspirations. The course will help participants understand Canada’s role in China and better promote and defend Canadian interests in the region in light of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • recognize the driving forces within China
  • explain why China matters to Canada
  • understand how China applies its power and influence abroad in its foreign relations
  • recognize the nature of China’s power and influence and its overall objectives abroad
