Description
This course examines Canadian priorities in dealing with the European Union (EU) and how to achieve them. Participants will learn the basics of the EU while exploring current and future priorities and challenges in the Canada-EU relationship. The course will be animated by group activities and discussions. Speakers from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and elsewhere will brief participants on the opportunities, challenges and strategies involved in advancing Canada’s interests in the region.
Learning Objectives :
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- understand the fundamentals of how the European Union works
- recognize the major institutions of the EU and their working relationship
- understand how Canada interacts with the EU
- recognize the importance of engagement with the EU
