Description

It is recommended to take the following courses prior to registering: Grants and Contributions 101 (FI4812) and Introduction to Results Based Management in International Assistance Programming (IDA006).

This course focuses on the last phase of the department’s programming process, which is used to manage more than $3 billion in annual international assistance spending. The implementation phase—when results are achieved in partner countries—is the crucial period in the life cycle of a project.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • distinguish the four components of project management in the implementation phase
  • detect issues in financial and narrative reports, and identify the actions to take
  • determine the types of changes that can take place during project implementation
  • recognize the circumstances that should lead to a visit, evaluation or audit of a project
