Description
This course introduces strategic foresight and how to contemplate future challenges and opportunities. We will explore a variety of tools/methods for thinking creatively about the future of technology, security, intelligence, geopolitics, and governance in Canada and abroad.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- discuss various methods/approaches to explore emerging and future trends
- develop an understanding of how and when to use and engage several strategic foresight techniques, including:
- horizons scanning
- influence diagram and cascades
- futures wheel
- system and domain mapping
- scenario planning, and
- assumptions testing
- accurately apply relevant foresight approaches to specific scenario
Notes: This course is available to other government department employees on a cost-recovery basis.
