Description
Participants will strengthen their understanding of the current Canadian policies valuing diversity and advancing inclusion. Individual diversity and inclusion competencies will be assessed as an entry-point to enhance professional performance. New tools will be applied.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe the concept of diversity and how diverse cultural differences impact each of us differently
- state why valuing diversity and strengthening inclusion are relevant to achieving the Department’s mandate
- assess relevant competencies
- identify how bias and assumptions shape our perceptions and interactions with others
- apply three tools to strengthen inclusive practice in the workplace
