Enhancing My Individual Diversity and Inclusion Competencies at Work

This course provides specialized training grounded in GAC’s context for staffing selection processes both in Canada and a mission. It presents policy frameworks and key considerations leading to inclusive staffing. It focuses on the sharing of good practices and proven approaches, while providing practical tools.

This course is an opportunity for leaders to reflect on how they have enhanced their leadership practice and performance through previous experiences relating to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). To enhance their own leadership practices, participants will consider inclusive leadership traits; active listening as a facet of intercultural communication; inclusive decision making; and direction and guidance provided by the Government of Canada’s and Global Affairs Canada’s current EDI, Anti-Racism, Accessibility and Indigenous Reconciliation policy frameworks. Participants will briefly consider change management models to define entry points for inclusive leadership.
