Description

Participants will strengthen their understanding of the current Canadian policies valuing diversity and advancing inclusion. Individual diversity and inclusion competencies will be assessed as an entry-point to enhance professional performance. New tools will be applied.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • describe the concept of diversity and how diverse cultural differences impact each of us differently
  • state why valuing diversity and strengthening inclusion are relevant to achieving the Department’s mandate
  • assess relevant competencies
  • identify how bias and assumptions shape our perceptions and interactions with others
  • apply three tools to strengthen inclusive practice in the workplace
