This online course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to the department's approach to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), the process of attracting foreign companies to Canada, as well as the resources that are available to help Trade Commissioners and Investment Officers in their investment attraction efforts.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe the department's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction strategy and mandate
- identify FDI-related concepts and key performance indicators
- review key elements of reporting and following-up on outcalls
- describe which FDI-related components are part of the business planning process
