This information session provides an overview of the Foreign Service Directives (FSDs) and their application, administration and interpretation.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this information session, participants will be able to:
• enhance their knowledge of the Foreign Service Directives (FSD) and understand how the FSDs apply throughout the posting cycle to their specific post and family
• become familiar with the various information sources and tools related to FSDs, including the FSD portal, FSDs administration and employee service
• recognize their responsibility to familiarize themselves with the FSDs, interact with the FSD Division, and seek clarification and/or assistance from their FSD Client Advisor regarding the application and/or interpretation of specific directives
Notes: This session is intended for employees preparing for their first posting assignment who have not been at post in the last three years and whose family situation has changed since their last posting.
The session is open to Government of Canada employees and provincial co-locators who are posted to one of Canada’s missions abroad.
