This information session provides an overview of the Foreign Service Directives (FSDs) and their application, administration and interpretation.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this information session, participants will be able to:
• enhance their knowledge of the Foreign Service Directives (FSD) and understand how they apply throughout the posting cycle to their particular post and their family
• be familiar with the information sources and tools on FSDs and the FSD portal, FSDs administration and services to employees
• understand their responsibility to familiarize themselves with the FSDs, how to interact with the FSDs bureau and ways to seek clarification and/or assistance from their FSD administrator with respect to the application and/or interpretation of a specific directive
Notes: This session is intended for employees preparing for their first posting assignment, who have not been at post since 2019 and whose family situation has changed since their last posting.
This session is part of the pre-posting training program. Spouses and partners are encouraged to attend when possible.
