Description
Primarily designed for executives and senior executives of Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the program aims to enhance understanding of international assistance globally as well as in the context of Canada's foreign policy and its priorities regarding interventions funded by the international assistance envelope.
With emphasis on programming mechanisms, multilateral and bilateral partnerships, as well as strategic management and accountability tools, the program aims to strengthen the capacity of executives and senior executives to play a strategic role in planning, approving, and managing GAC international assistance efforts.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- analyze the characteristics and role of international assistance (IA) on a global scale
- examine the implementation of Canada’s IA priorities and efforts and GAC’s IA mandate within the global context
- apply IA management best practices in terms of performance, relationship, information and financial management
- identify strategies to respond and adapt to the changing context of IA programming
