Description
This course aims to build learners' capacity to effectively engage with multilateral organizations and build support for Canadian initiatives and interests in the multilateral fora.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- analyze the historical development and current challenges of the multilateral system and articulate its importance for Canada's global role
- evaluate how UN member states work together to achieve results
- recognize and apply negotiating terminology appropriately
- critically analyze the multilateral negotiation process, from zero draft to consensus document
- demonstrate collaboration by creating a consensus document in a simulated multilateral scenario
