Description
This course is designed to help participants understand Canada’s current human rights obligations and priorities internationally.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe Canada’s international human rights obligations and priorities
- examine Canada’s Guidelines on Supporting Human Rights Defenders
- discuss Canada’s recommendations for the UN Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review
- describe the role of civil society in advancing human rights internationally
- examine multilateral forums that address human rights
- analyze tools used to uphold human rights commitments
