Description
The course is designed to help participants understand Canada’s current international human rights obligations and priorities, including how Canada actively promotes and protects human rights.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe Canada’s international human rights obligations and priorities
- examine Canada’s Guidelines on Supporting Human Rights Defenders
- discuss Canada’s recommendations for the UN Human Rights Council’s Universal Periodic Review
- describe the role of civil society in advancing human rights internationally
- examine multilateral forums that address human rights
