Description

This course aims to strengthen participants' knowledge and practices related to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in international assistance projects and policies.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • identify and reduce their biases in understanding and communicating about people with disabilities;
  • identify and explain the key principles of the human rights-based approach and the national and international policy framework for disability inclusion;
  • use key disability inclusion tools and approaches to ensure the needs of persons with disabilities are met in international assistance programs and policies;
  • develop a disability inclusion checklist for use when assessing project proposals and monitoring implementation.
