Description
This course supports Global Affairs Canada staff to better incorporate disability inclusion in their international assistance policy and programming work. Participants strengthen their knowledge and practice of disability inclusion, by applying new principles and tools to ensure that programme and policies meet the needs of persons with disabilities.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- identify and explain the key principles of the human rights-based approach and the national and international policy framework for disability inclusion
- use key disability inclusion tools and approaches to ensure the needs of persons with disabilities are met in their professional work
- develop a disability inclusion checklist for use when assessing project proposals and monitoring implementation
