Description
Canada’s support to education in developing countries and emergency and humanitarian settings forms a large and important part of its international assistance portfolio, and for good reason: education matters. This course introduces the issues at the heart of why so many children are either not in school, or are in school but do not learn, and gives an overview of the ways in which Global Affairs Canada responds to those challenges.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- describe the reasons for supporting education and how education is supported in developing countries
- describe the policy framework through which support to education is delivered at Global Affairs Canada
- list the types of international assistance education programming at Global Affairs Canada
