This course provides an introduction to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. It highlights the foundation and importance of the WPS agenda, and outlines how Canada is meeting its WPS commitments at home and abroad. Participants are invited to consider a variety of concrete actions in which they can advance the WPS agenda in their work.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• explain what the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda is and how it fits within Canada’s Feminist Foreign policy
• describe the purpose and implementation of Canada’s National Action Plan on WPS
• plan for concrete actions they could take in their work to support the WPS agenda
