Financial Management and Contracting (Grants and Contributions Budget) in the Field

The course gives participants an opportunity to learn more about transfer payments and the requirements that govern the department’s annual disbursement of billions through grants and contributions.

The course focuses on the last phase of the department’s business process, which is used to manage more than $3 billion in annual aid spending. The implementation phase—when results are achieved in partner countries—is the crucial period in the life cycle of a project.

This course aims to increase participants' knowledge of Public Financial Management (PFM) systems, practices, institutions and related topics in the context of international development, and improve their capacity to monitor and contribute meaningfully to dialogue on PFM issues with partner country governments and other donors.
