This course is intended for employees who are interested in learning more about consular, either as consular backups at mission, emergency responders at Headquarters, or new consular employees.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- examine Canada's consular mandate, including to whom the Department can offer consular services and what these services include and exclude
- apply core consular service principles in case scenarios
- understand the roles and responsibilities of consular officers
- identify the key actors in the consular program, both at headquarters and at missions
- identify key client service practices and practice applying them in case scenarios
