Description

Working in fragile and conflict-affected area poses special challenges. Pre-departure training in intercultural effectiveness can minimize the risk of failure and enhance personal and program outcomes in these environments. The course is custom-designed for anyone who will be undertaking a mission in a fragile or conflict-affected area.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• understand the concept of culture and how it influences your own values, beliefs and actions
• develop intercultural communication skills
• acquire culture-specific knowledge related to your mission
• practice strategies to respond to specific intercultural challenges

Notes: This training for groups is also available to other government departments and non-governmental organizations on a cost-recovery basis.
