Description

This information session will present the department’s efforts to advance international Indigenous issues (policy priorities and activities) and to engage with Indigenous peoples at home and abroad.

The session will also present an overview of Global Affairs Canada’s Action Plan on Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, international agreements, legislation and decisions or case law that direct current policy and practice, including those regarding consultations and engagement with Indigenous peoples.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • outline international and domestic agreements, legislation, and decisions that direct policy and practice
  • describe Global Affairs Canada’s current engagement with Indigenous people in Canada and abroad
