Description
This program aims to provide participants from Global Affairs Canada, partner departments and co-locators with an understanding of their roles and responsibilities as program managers in their missions abroad, and representing and promoting Canadian interests and priorities as outlined the departmental plan. The program is designed to bring together program managers from all streams, along with program managers from partner departments, to get to know their colleagues and get a head start on working together towards a whole of Canada approach at their mission. The program also offers participants the chance to develop or consolidate their international managerial and leadership competencies in line with key policy frameworks and strategies, and to enhance their capacity to deliver tangible and sustainable results in an ethical, inclusive and effective manner.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- reinforce a Whole-of-Canada approach for the promotion of Canada’s interests and values
- develop an integrated strategy for work at mission, leveraging respective expertise and networks for greater impact
- apply global leadership skills required of program managers
- recognize key management responsibilities at mission
Note: The program is intended for outgoing program managers who report directly to the Head of Mission. Registration is by invitation only. The training provider will contact employees to coordinate registration if they are eligible based on their position or role at mission.
