Description
Across the Public Service, human-centred leadership is being adopted as the standard in leadership mindsets and behaviours. A human-centred leadership approach recognizes that people are an organization’s most precious resource – that putting people first is the most effective way to achieve the desired organizational results and deliver on our priorities.
This course is an opportunity for Global Affairs Canada deputy directors to step out of the day-to-day operations and reflect on their own leadership practices and performance, to strengthen the mindsets and behaviours needed to transform the Department’s culture and workplace as we continue to reach for the North Star and to consider how to apply and integrate human-centred leadership back into their own workplace changes, challenges and teams.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- practice self-reflection and perspective taking using a coaching approach
- support their team’s development using a coaching approach
- adopt an inclusive and human-centred leadership approach (mindsets and behaviours) to guiding employees through change
Note: Participants must complete pre-course readings before the session.
