Description

Although many would say that children can adapt to anything, the reality is that moving to a different country has an impact on them. Discussion about the reality of Third Culture Kid will be provided to try to understand some of the reactions and challenges that may be present, as well as how can we, as parents, better prepare them for the move abroad.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

• identify solutions to children reactions and challenges to moving abroad

• explore strategies and best practices to assist parents

• outline the concept of ‘Third Culture Kid’

Notes: This session is part of the pre-posting training program. Spouses and partners are encouraged to attend when possible.
