Description

The new Code of Conduct provides clarity on expected behaviours, standards, rules, responsibilities, and practices for all employees in Canada and abroad, including for Locally Engaged Staff. The new Code of Conduct replaces the Code of Conduct for Canadian Representative Abroad. In the session, the purpose and scope of the new code of conduct will be explained, the implications of the rules and responsibilities will be discussed, and case studies will be analyzed to identify appropriate actions and responses based on the new code.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • understand the new code of conduct
  • recognize expected behaviors and standards
  • comprehend rules and responsibilities
  • apply practices in real-world situations

Notes: The session is open to Government of Canada employees and provincial co-locators who are posted to one of Canada’s missions abroad. Government of Canada employees and co-locators will need to contact Learning-Apprentissage@international.gc.ca to register.
