Description

This session will further enhance participants' knowledge of privileges and immunities and how these may apply to employees and accompanying family members when posted overseas, along with the protections afforded to Canadian missions abroad. This session will also provide an opportunity for participants to ask specific questions relating to privileges and immunities arising out of the introductory online course or their personal experiences.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

• apply their understanding of privileges and immunities in various scenarios and distinguish as well as explain how they are applicable to the mission, certain staff, and accompanying family members
• recognize situations when questions relating to privileges and immunities may arise abroad and identify when these situations may require consultation with Global Affairs Canada headquarters
