This course helps employees being posted abroad for the first time become acquainted with how Canadian missions abroad function.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • describe the Government of Canada programs at missions and how they function
  • explain the different types of corporate services offered within missions
  • define the different diplomatic titles and list the order of precedence
  • describe the relationships between partners, co-locators and Global Affairs Canada
  • identify mission specific terminology

Notes: The course is open to Government of Canada employees and provincial co-locators who are posted to one of Canada’s missions abroad. Government of Canada employees and provincial co-locators will need to contact Learning-Apprentissage@international.gc.ca to register.
