Description

The course focuses on awareness of information security at Global Affairs Canada. The topics presented include various Canadian Acts, access to intelligence, the processes by which intelligence is obtained and how to protect information and yourself from the threat of espionage.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • understand the Department’s capacity to use intelligence for the protection of our people, information and assets
  • become familiar with the policy changes that affect how the Government of Canada accesses and protects intelligence
  • be aware of the accreditation requirement and process related to the Government of Canada’s Protection of intelligence
  • be self-aware with regards to technical security and espionage
  • identify risks related to the access and protection of intelligence
  • understand the various adversaries or threats related to the compromise of intelligence and the potential consequences
