Description
This course provides employees a foundational understanding on Headquarters leading the federal response during emergencies abroad. Participants will gain the foundational knowledge required to join the Emergency Response Team (ERT) at Headquarters, including surge responders, making this course a key prerequisite for operational readiness.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- identify emergency management principles and the policies guiding emergency response
- describe the Emergency Response Team roles, structures, and coordination mechanisms
- demonstrate how the whole-of-government approach is applied during emergencies
- recognize mental health impacts during a crisis to better self-assess your readiness capacity
