Description

Former Global Affairs Canada (GAC) colleague Tamara Guttman will offer a 1-hour orientation workshop on the retirement process from the retiree’s perspective. She will share her insights and provide GAC employees with practical guidance, including a road map to retirement to help prepare for this important transition.

This session reflects GAC’s commitment to supporting employees as they plan for this significant life and career milestone. It is intended for indeterminate employees (CBS) at Headquarters, regional offices and missions who are members of the Public Service Pension Plan.

Note: As the workshop is designed from the retiree’s perspective, it will not provide official guidance on human resources or individual pension questions, although it may address these topics from the facilitator’s perspective. The workshop complements the longer, formal retirement courses offered through CFSI.

Upon completing this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • navigate the retirement process across 3 phases (pre-retirement, notification and post-retirement)
  • apply lessons learned and practical tips on managing the transition from work to retirement
  • build confidence in planning and executing a successful retirement journey
